Repairing Cracks in Concrete: A Simple Guide

Blog Header 900 600 1

Cracks in concrete can happen over time due to weather, heavy loads, or natural settling. Fixing these concrete cracks is important to maintain the strength and look of your concrete surfaces.

How to Fix Crack in Concrete

  1. Clean the Crack: Use a wire brush or a pressure washer to remove any dirt and debris from the crack. Make sure it’s clean so the repair material can stick properly.
  2. Prepare the Crack: Widen the crack slightly with a chisel to create a V-shape. This helps the repair material bond better.
  3. Fill the Crack: Use a concrete repair caulk or epoxy filler. Squeeze the filler into the crack, overfilling it slightly.
  4. Smooth the Surface: Use a trowel to level the repair material with the surrounding concrete. Let it dry as per the instructions on the product.
  5. Seal the Concrete: Apply a concrete sealant to protect the repaired area from future damage.
